It was March 17, 2021. This Irishman from Providence, RI was not expecting much when he ordered corned beef and cabbage from an Italian and Greek restaurant – Primo Family Restaurant in the Belle View Shopping Center, Alexandria, VA – especially when it was carry out.
Got home and opened it. The bottom line is that it was simply the best corned beef dinner my wife and I ever had! Ever!
No fat whatsoever on the brisket, perfectly sliced, firm but tender. The cabbage – cut just right and not overcooked. The potato – a red potato halved and cooked to perfection. And homemade white horseradish sauce on the side.
A simple meal in its most perfect state.

Best family restaurant in NOVA…owner and staff are friendly. Good home town feel and the food to match. Thank you for being open!!!

This is the first time we have eaten here. We were visiting and was looking for a place to eat. We found primo and it was wonderful. It has Greek and Italian food and some Americans items. The food was tasty and big portions. We got the hummus and pita. I’m not a big hummus fan. But this was the best hummus I had. Both of our meal was very taste and filling. We will return to this restaurant next time we are in town.
